failed clone

Monday, January 22nd, 2007

funny thing that happened in the office/studio once. there’s this freelancer/subcon that looks a bit like a former batchmate. when we were trainees, we used to catch glimpses of him out in the hallway and lobby, and we’d always joke around ("uy, si edgar may twin!") much to our friend’s annoyance.

now, more than a year later, we spot the "twin" again. one of my teammates looked up and said "uy, si edgar yun o! di ba si edgar yun!" sabay turo sa freelancer. and then, catching a better look at him, my teammate retracts his statement with a "ay…hindi pala! kamukha lang." and then, my teammate bursts into laughter and says "failed clone ni edgar pala yun!"

i suppose you all have a fairly good idea how "handsome" this freelancer may look, considering my teammate said failed clone. >:D

as usual, there’s nothing much going on in my life. i voiced a character for my friend, which required me to act like a drunken fool for about half of my lines. i’m starting to feel more and more tired every night i come home, though i don’t know why. maybe i don’t get enough rest, or maybe…just maybe…i don’t enjoy anymore. enjoy what? heh, put two and two together. my close friends will know what i’m talking about. that’s enough.

toll rates on the south superhighway have increased. bummer. now what? i suppose i have to expect an increase in commuting fares as well. time to figure out an alternative to the colorum from makati to sucat. if all else fails, i may have to resort to taking the bus, or staying over at ace’s house. i might end up being a bother to her ma, though. this particular event brings to mind three important words: location, location, location. this really sucks.

ano bang meron sa south super na sobrang espesyal na kailangan pang taasan ang toll rate? meron ba tayong mga clown na sumasayaw sa daan? may kumakain ba ng apoy? ano ba?

our government knows everything except how to govern. which is why gas may have gone down a cent or two, but to compensate, the tolls have gone up. hmph.

the start of 2007 certainly has really brought on a slew of revelations and realizations for me. let’s just say i’m still who i am but i don’t believe in certain things (and people, for that matter) anymore. dreams don’t die, but they can fade, and mine’s faded into a gray, sorry excuse for what it used to be. but it’s still there. i just don’t think it can come true in a facsimile of a country that ours is.
